Introducing Ring Mountain
With Sharon we visited Ring Mountain to kick off our Geology unit. We read a story about picking the perfect rock and each child selected their very own Ring Mountain rock. When the unit is over we will return the rocks to their homes. We even whispered a wish for the year to our rocks!
Programming
For the first month of programming, Willows explored the Beebots. We learned about 90º, 180º and 360º angles. We created mazes to see if we could program the Beebots to go through the mazes without knocking over any of our contraption planks.
Creating Earth from the Inside Out
In science we learned about the layers of the earth and created our own out of playdoh. Inner core, outer core, mantle and crust--layer by layer they molded an earth of their own.
Corte Madera Town Square
We visited the Town Square to sketch the buildings. This was the first step in learning about our modern day Corte Madera.
